Have you been swept over by the wave of minimalism that’s taken the West by storm? Arguably one of the most sophisticated styles ever to exist, minimalism focuses on creating an ambience of subtlety, yet charm, often by incorporating elements from a limited palate of colours.
As far as minimalism goes, even a bride’s trousseau isn’t far behind. From Meghan Markle’s minimalist nude makeup and simple wedding gown, we can foresee why the trend is here to stay. For a chic, sophisticated, and timeless look, go for a minimalist outfit for your wedding. Confused? Let us show you how!

Pink is the New Red
And pastels are the new wedding outfit. Be it a lightweight kurta for your sangeet ceremony, or a heavily embellished silk lehenga for the wedding, pastels can make anything work. While either gold or silver complement the colour scheme wonderfully, you could try assimilating both in intricate floral embroidery to add depth to your outfit! The idea is to keep the colours light and simple, yet adding a richness to the look by accessorising or embroidering.

Choker-It!
Chokers are another way to accessorize without making an outfit seem drab. The best way to don a choker is to opt for one with polki, and pair it with a relatively minimalist blouse and skirt. We’d recommend staying away from a choker if you plan to wear a saree- too many elements around the neck draw attention and are anything but minimalist!

Ditch the Makeup!
Before you think we’re bonkers, hear us out. Instead of going Bridezilla and ending up looking cakey in your photos, opt for a dewy look instead. You could also make one element pop out if you so wish- this could be a smokey eye, or a bold lip, while keeping everything else minimal and nude.

Mess Up
Yep, you heard it. Mess up your hair and settle for a messy updo in lieu of a tight chignon. A messy hairdo talks bohemian, yet super chic and classy, and can often be paired with just about any kind of outfit.
