Onlookers behold! The belted saree trend is here to make heads turn. Alright, well, it’s not an entirely new concept, but the trend has mutated itself and pervaded even the everyday saree. From the vivacious Tarun Tahiliani to the subtler-than-thou Anita Dongre, designers across have taken to incorporating the modern twist on the traditional saree. We're showing you five ways to rock this trend!
1. Go Subtle
Shilpa Shetty in this screaming pink Anita Dongre creation shows you to rock the subtler-than-thou waist belt. The “belt” here of the same material as the saree and is used to enhance the waist, rather than attract attention as an accessory in itself.

2. Make a Statement!
This look marries uber chic with alpha female and presents the go-to look for women who dare to look different. While the leopard print saree and seventies’ sunglasses look super cool in themselves, the leather belt adds an androgynous aspect to the modern outfit.

3. Bedazzle
A nice silver belt promises to enhance a dull (or not so dull) saree- especially net ones. What’s better- silver complements almost anything!

4. Add Oomph
Waist belts work great for women who think they look stubby in sarees. Cinch your waist at its smallest with a delicate belt- a string of gems would do the trick.

5. Go Marathi On It
If you feel like it, we totally believe you can rock the original Marathi kamarband. Usually a thin strand of gold could do the trick, and add a hint of glamour to your outfit, but you could go for a heavy one, encrusted with gems, to make it look even grander.
