Shanon Tuli and Ashees Jain co-founded Simrani in Fall 2012, committed to bringing traditional Indian girl's clothing stateside. Shanon has experience at three of the most celebrated fashion magazines- In Style, ELLE and currently Harper's BAZAAR. After she became a mother she was devoted to applying her creative expertise to a more personal endeavor. Ashees has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and was also keen on levering his experiences for a venture that hit closer to home.
Between the two of them, Shanon and Ashees have three little girls—hence the evolution of company name Simrani, a beautiful blend of all three. With the brand’s bounty of jewel-tone hues and majestic textiles, it’s all too fitting that Simrani recalls the Hindi word for queen, rani. Neha and Tina are our talented designers—handcrafting the garments in small batches in India—infusing each with elegance and originality.
