While working at AT&T for 12 years, Geeta kept her passion for party planning and bridal outfit and favor packaging alive. In October 2003, she turned her passion into her profession and began Shaadi Presentations. How did you decide to take a leap into starting this business?I organized many weddings, parties and community functions for family and friends and they encouraged me to exhibit my work at the community functions and to participate in a bridal show. The extraordinary response from the public helped me start the business.
Tell us a little bit about your business. What services and products do you provide to brides and grooms-to-be?
At Shaadi Presentations, we provide all wedding related services including event planning, designer bridal gift wrapping, customized Indian cake toppers, unique party favors, elegant wedding accessories, fancy gift baskets, wedding card accompaniments, and more.
How can a couple take a look at your products and designs?I encourage brides, grooms and their family members and friends to visit the Shaadi Presentations showroom located in Bridgewater, New Jersey. We also have a website, ShaadiPresentations.com which showcases our product catalogue and services. I encourage them to call to make an appointment before visiting so that I can provide personalized attention. We also try to participate in most of the bridal shows in the area to display our products.
Can you customize your products to reflect your clients’ individual weddings and styles?
Absolutely! Most of our services are customized. We customize cake toppers to match the wedding outfits of the bride and groom, package customized party favors to match the individual’s taste and/or wedding theme.
What are your 3 best-selling products?Customized Indian cake toppers, unique party favors and wedding accessories such as ring carriers.
Tell us a little more about party favors and bridal gift wrapping.We have a very unique collection of almost 200 party favors which are of some utility or decorative grace. In addition to providing the party favors, I package them elegantly and most of the customers really like my styles.
The designer bridal gift wrapping is exclusive and unique wrapping of Lehengas, Ladies Suits, and Saris in amazing styles and shapes (peacock, butterfly, envelope, etc.) with or without accessories (bangles, handbags, etc.). We also wrap Men's Suits, Shervani/Achkan sets, Kurta Pajamas, etc. We arrange all coordinated accessories with the outfits to make the wedding presentation special.
How often do you introduce new products? Do you make them yourself?
We offer new products every year and sometimes twice a year. We learn from our customers everyday and often create products based on their desires. We carry such a huge variety of products in party favors and wedding accessories that it is not possible to make them all ourselves. We do customize all of the products ourselves though. I also design many items and have them made elsewhere. We try to always keep ourselves on top of the new trends and designs that come out from our vendors in USA and India.
How long does it take after an order is placed for gift wrapping or for other products?It clearly depends on the product or services ordered. Generally, customized services require 2-3 weeks, and some party favors may take about 6-8 weeks. We always meet the promised date of delivery. I encourage the bride and groom not to wait until the last minute and to place the order as soon as possible in order to mark off one more item on their “to-do” list.
Can you provide your services to couples outside of the tri-state area? Do you deliver?
Yes, we provide most of our services outside of the tri-state area. We can always deliver. In some cases we can deliver in person and if we can’t, we deliver using common couriers.
Are all the items for sale or do you rent some items too?I have some items that I rent too. I especially love the elegant jaal(net) of red and white flowers which is used to make the bridal entry very sophisticated. A few of the bride’s friends hold this up hiding the bride behind it. Every customer who rents it just loves the whole effect. Also, we can provide a card drop box in the shape of a doli/palki.
