Recently our very own Harsimran had the honor of attending the Wedding Store 24 event in Los Angeles and was kind enough to share her experience with us. Read below to see her play by play!
I had the good fortune of attending a fabulous wedding show a few days ago and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you all. It’s definitely a different experience attending a wedding show when you’re already married-- however, five years later, I am feeling a little jealous over the new trends and wish I could get married all over again (to the same guy, of course)!
The details:
Host: Wedding Store 24
When: February 21, 2016
Where: Ritz-Carlton L.A. Live, Los Angeles, CA
The show was definitely created with the modern bride in mind. The colors were bold and bright, the music was hip, and the food was creative. The event included a Meet & Greet with the gorgeous Dress Your Face founder, Tamanna Roashan, as well as, four unique fashion shows showcased by: Frontier Heritage, Fashion by Rohini, David Meister, and Sareh Nouri. Later, Wedding Store 24 raffled off a free lengha and the evening concluded with a mixer at the Mixing Room. It was definitely an eventful evening and Wedding Store 24 did a great job by ensuring there was something for everyone. The fashion shows were entertaining with short dance series and the vendors were friendly and exhibited their finest collections.
Here are a few of my personal highlights of the night:
Video company, Samson Productions, has an innovative way to bring people closer together during wedding events. We were greeted at the door by a cart that had a tablet attached to it. We waved to the individual whose image was on it, and he waved back. In our communication with the vendor, the Skype on Wheels is brought to the event and the family members who were unable to attend the event physically are able to navigate the Skype on Wheels around the room to interact with the guest and be a part of the event remotely. The guests are able to communicate both ways, but the navigation is done on the remote side. What a fantastic idea!
Another unique vendor was artist Taylor Gallegos’ “Live Wedding Art” stall. The vendor creates a live painting onsite throughout the event. The couple customizes what they would like to have painted and the artist presents a 24’’ x 30’’ non-toxic acrylic painting for them to enjoy for generations to come. I’ve seen this being done at a few events recently and I always think it’s nice to see the interpretation of the work and the progress throughout the night.
I was able to bribe my husband to attend the event with me by offering him food. If you’ve been to wedding shows, you’ll know there will always be a robust selection of food. This show did not disappoint! The vendor that stood out to me the most was “Infusion by Elbows”. Their Cerritos, CA store will be opening shortly and I’m thrilled that there’s a fusion option for me to enjoy when I’m out in that area next. We had the opportunity to try modern flavors infused with Indian masalas. Some samples were: Sweet chili chicken bites, Khichdi rolls, and Mexican bhel. The plating was modern and sophisticated. I am looking forward to trying more South Asian fusion flavors shortly.
L.A. Rickshaw’s display of an adorable black and yellow rickshaw in the corner of the show was a great addition to the event. I’m always searching for a fun bharat vehicle, or grand entrance, or getaway car and this is a fantastic option! The rickshaws are exactly like the ones from India (without having to deal with the traffic situation in major cities in India). Each package comes with a driver, a stereo system with Bluetooth and an option to include decorations (garlands).
Neema Lodhia of Wedding Store 24 shares:
"The event at the Ritz Carlton LA Live showcased luxury displays by the top wedding professionals in the wedding industry, along with gorgeous fashion show stage designed by Shawna Yamamoto who enlisted the help of Jackson Shrub that brought in gorgeous live pepper trees and shrubs around the fashion runway, with an exquisite video mapped backdrop by Samson Productions, the LED runway provided by Barker Decor Service, lighting production by 3D Sounds, Audio/Visual by Special Occasions DJ, and the help of Planning Elegance who assisted in the planning process and event coordination. The entire event was captured by Andrena Photography who provided the photo coverage and Lin & Jirsa who provided the cinematography. The guest of honor was the beautiful Tamanna Roashan of Dress your Face, who did a meet & greet with the brides in her environment designed by Kismet Events.
The event also showcased beautiful Indian Bridal wear by Frontier Heritage and Fashion by Rohini, along white gown bridal wear from celebrity gown designers Sareh Nouri and David Meister.
