Outdoor Holud Ceremony Captured by Lovesome Photography

Today's post is a whimsical multicultural display of love as Lovesome Photography captured the fairytale Holud Ceremony of Sabrina and Leonid in the Woodend Nature Sanctuary in Maryland. A Holud ceremony is an indian wedding tradition that involves family members rubbing turmeric paste on the bride and groom to cleanse the skin (turmeric is said to give the skin a healthy glow) in preparation for the next day's religious ceremony.

Dressed in bright colors and dripping with fresh flowers the bride-to-be wore a green and pink lengha choli and kept her hair in a pleated braid. Her dramatic cat eye and bright pink lip finished her look flawlessly and made it almost impossible to take your eyes off of her.

Following the Holud ceremony, Sabrina and Leonid's family and friends gathered for an evening of singing, dancing and sweets to help kick off the impending wedding festivities. I absolutely adored the simple staging with draped fabric and big white bouquets lining the top. Their family and friends looked amazing entertaining the couple and showering them with well wishes!
