BMW India Bridal Fashion Week (IBFW) 2014 – Suneet Varma

Designer Suneet Varma’s collection titled ‘Shekhawati’ of Rajasthan, one of the oldest and most beautiful hand-painted living cities in the world, was the inspiration behind the collection - traditional Indian with a modern twist.

Showcased were embroidery encrusted velvet kurtas, sarees and jackets, delicately embroidered sarees in shades of deep red, fuchsia and subtle pink, stark white and ivory, and dark navy and cobalt blue with antique and burnt gold and copper thread and mirror embellishments. The collection also had handmade accessories in beaten metallic gold designed into earrings and hair pins.

The showstopper was none other than Kangana Ranaut, who walked the ramp in an ensemble which featured her as an Indian Aphrodite bride, especially thanks to the new trend in choli design.
