Delhi Couture Week 2013 Photos - Satya Paul / Varun Bahl

Day 3 of Delhi Couture Week 2013 showcased two very prominent design houses; Satya Paul and Varun Bahl. Satya Paul's demi-couture collection in the hands of Masaba showcased what the brand is famous for, its bold prints. Masaba injected a playful and modern touch with an x-ray flower print to each sari that seemed to float in all its silk glory. Bold red, white and black hues and combinations of grey and yellow in large floral prints were the highlights of this collection. Small touches such as silk ruffled collars, capes and lace elevated these outfits to another level. We can see a bride having a destination wedding wearing these light silk saris to her Sangeet.

Varun Bahl also showcased quite a monochromatic show with a bit of yellow, pale pink and gray in his collection "Flight." Gorgeous and impeccably tailored long skirts and lenghas and net saris in rich Parsi Gara work were simply stunning. The fine embroidery, some of it bird themed, perfectly paired with lighter fabrics proving that one does not need heavy jeweled lenghas or saris on wedding garments to look amazing. Overall this collection is dreamy enough for the bride who likes to take chances with her wardrobe and doesn't want to wear the usual pink and red colors.
