The fashion industry is often known for the here today gone tomorrow trends, only to welcome the same trends back after some years have passed. One such trend that I am very excited to see make a comeback is the art of Phulkari. Phulkari, which literally translates to floral work, is an ancient embroidery technique that originated in Punjab. Traditionally this type of embroidery was used during a girl's wedding as part of her trousseau, but recently designers such as
Manisha Malhotra and Niki Mahajan have started to adopt it for use on their upcoming bridal wear.
