Indian Wedding Fashion from WIFW 2013 by Manish Malhotra

This is it, the last post of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week A/W 2013! If I saw these photos and didn't know that they were from Manish Malhotra, I would have never guessed. The Punjab influenced collection was quite the departure from his very recognizable designs. A colorful collection heavy on Phulkari embroidery layered with lighter silks and minimal crystals showed the many facets of Malhotra's designs. Jacqueline Fernandez walked down the runway in one of my favorite pieces that would look stunning on a bride, a long Phulkari jacket with a sheer layered lengha edged in more Phulkari embroidery. Esha Gupta also looked amazing in a black velvet dupatta and choli paired with a silk claret and gold lengha.

It's traditional yet modern and perfect for brides who want to embrace traditional design with their own contemporary touch. Brides who want to stay away from the bling and sparkle  but still want to stay true to Punjabi roots will surely find inspiration in this collection.
