Indian Wedding Fashion from WIFW 2013 by Shantanu & Nikhil / Anju Modi
Day 3 of
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week A/W 2013 had some wildly interesting concepts that went from one extreme to the other. On one hand,
Shantanu & Nikhil favored a very pale pink and beige, which was all over the runway this year, on the other,
Anju Modi showcased dark military colors. How can this work for bridal trends you ask? Well let's view each collection and see.
Shantanu & Nikhil's offerings were all about blush and beige with a few silver and navy pieces in there. I am not suggesting you wear head to toe beige for your reception, but you can certainly add a little of it to other colors. A great example of this is the dark beige, gold and orange lengha from their collection; this can be paired with a brighter choli, or if you want less color, a gold and beige one.
At first look
Anju Modi's military concept doesn't seem like it would be bridal friendly at all, but you have to look past that. It is after all, just a concept for the show. The colors of rich red, gold and green are indeed perfect for brides. The details are what makes this collection really shine with beautiful yet simple embroidery, gold silk edging, and the fusion of colors. How cute is the elephant print? I can certainly see a bride with a fun personality wearing this for the Sangeet.
