Indian Wedding Bridal Style Inspiration - Golden Globes 2013

It's award show season and I can't get enough of the celebrity fashion and makeup that these events bring to my screen (tv and computer).  Some looks that I absolutely love, such as Kate Hudson's Alexander McQueen dress, are definitely not bridal friendly but still stunning. With that in mind, I compiled some of the most bridal friendly looks to inspire you. Whilst they may not be exactly what one would wear for an Indian wedding, they do serve as great inspiration for Indian brides in terms of fabrics, textures and embellishments.  And who could resist gawking at the incredible jewelry that these celebrities get to wear.

Jessica Alba looked flawless in a peach Oscar de la Renta gown and a stunning Harry Winston diamond necklace.  This look would be gorgeous for your wedding reception.  Her makeup focused on her bronzed glowing skin and bright tangerine lipstick complimented by subtle soft brown eyeshadow and eyeliner.  The lipstick color is gorgeous and has already been picked as a favorite by beauty editors. You can get this look with Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Riviera ($65 www.hourglasscosmetics.com)

Isla Fisher kept her look elegant and simple with a sparkling Reem Acra gown in a neutral color with lots of embellisments.  Definitely a look for brides who want to think outside the box and want lots of sparkle for their reception dress.  Isla's hairstyle of loose side-swept curls is channeling the iconic Veronica Lake. Her makeup was very minimal except for the red wine lips. Her makeup artist customized the color for her but you can get the same look with Rouge D'Armani lipstick 403 ($30 www.giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com)

Emily Blunt opted for a dress by Michael Kors in opulent golden lace. The dress certainly had a unique look of a semi attached lengha-choli. To get the look, a gold lengha-choli would be equally stunning for your Indian wedding reception.  Her hair styled in an elegant bun showcased her gorgeous ruby earrings. Soft smoky eyes paired with soft pink lips are a classic combo that will not look dated years from now.  The perfect soft pink lipstick she used: Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Edition ($30 www.barneys.com)

Nicole Richie has yet to wear a dull outfit.  Leave it to this fashion icon to wear a 6os' inspired sky blue gown by Naeem Khan.  The silhouette is gorgeous, the beading and embellished pearls would be beautiful on a bride. While blue is not everyone's cup of tea, this style would work on any number of colors. Her makeup was definitely the most colorful out of all the celebrities. She opted for a very retro yet modern sky blue shadow and pale pink lips.  A touch of icy blue eyeshadow looks amazing if you are wearing a dark blue outfit for your wedding reception. She used Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadow Single in Sky ($18.50 www.beauty.com)

Jennifer Lopez never loses an opportunity to showcase her amazing figure and this body hugging gown by Zuhair Murad is not for the timid. The nude color bodice and white lace combination is indeed intriguing but a less daring color option would make a beautiful wedding gown if you are going for a western style dress instead of an Indian lengha.  Her hair was parted to the side, pinned back and a cascade of loose curls adorned the other side. She did indeed sport that JLo glow with flawless complexion, bronzer, luminizer, smokey eyes and nude lips.  To get her smokey eyes she used L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Eye Shadow Quads in Cupa Joe and Black Pump ($7.95 www.Ulta.com)

Anne Hathaway kept it simple and pretty to compliment her gamine looks.  She wore a strapless Chanel top and long skirt in the brightest white imaginable covered in the tiniest pailettes and beads.  This look can be achieved with a lengha- choli covered in tiny beads for a minimalist look, this would probably look amazing in red as well for brides who wish to wear traditional red. The makeup on Anne was kept to a minimum with just a touch of foundation on her nearly perfect complexion, pale peach blush, groomed eyebrows and a earthy pink lipstick. A natural pink lipstick is a must in every bride's makeup kit. She used Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Sedusiante ($34 www.nordstrom.com)

The old style glamour of old Hollywood ruled the red carpet with most celebrities wearing their hair parted to the side with cascades of loose curls and waves.  This year, the makeup was barely there. Soft pale blushes, nude eyeshadows and pink lips were everywhere with the exception of a few who preferred a bolder look. Wonder no more about how soft and fluttery their eyelashes looked. Here's a tip: try mink lashes for your wedding.   How will you wear these trends on the red carpet to your wedding?
