Bollywood Inspired Indian Bridal Makeup at People's Choice Awards

I hope everyone is safe after Sandy took us for a spin here on the east coast. Half of our team is still without power so please bear with us until we resume our regular coverage. We love looking at Bollywood stars for style inspiration and what better way than to see them shine than at the People's Choice Awards in Mumbai.

Kareena Kapoor looked absolutely stunning in a white one-shoulder gown by David Meister. The newlywed sported a very different look than at her wedding opting for a classic combination of dramatic cat-eye liner and full lashes with red lips. Her makeup artist was none other than Bollywood favorite Mickey Contractor.  This makeup style looks especially gorgeous on brides; you might want to save this one for your Indian wedding pinterest board!

Madhuri Dixit Nene made an appearance looking radiant in a gorgeous pink-coral anarkali with gold embellishments by Manish Malhotra.  Her makeup was soft and natural which was perfectly matched to her overall look.  We would love to see a bride wear such a gorgeous outfit, especially with the cooler weather approaching.

Another Bollywood beauty, Priyanka Chopra, showed up on the red carpet in a showstopping mini dress, with grey sequins and fringe by Amato Haute Couture. As gorgeous as she looks, she definitely needs a jewelry statement piece, don't you think? We do love her bronze smokey eyes and her sexy hair style but a little bit of a brighter lip color would have elevated this whole look.  A bronze smoky eye is an amazing look for a bride who doesn't want to do a heavy eye look.

Katrina Kaif opted for another white dress but with a very different look. She wore a short white lace tiered mini dress by Valentino. We love the romantic playfulness of the dress but we are not loving the shoes. A great pair of shoes and a great bracelet with that dress and it would have been nearly perfect. Her makeup is extremely soft and natural. There are no harsh lines around the eyes, flushed pink cheeks and nude rose lips. This is a great no-makeup makeup style for brides who do not like how they look heavily made up. Tip: This requires quite a bit of makeup and blending to make it look as natural as possible.

Sameera Reddy was camera ready in a blazing red Dior gown with a slim belt that showed off her slim and curvy figure.  Her Chanel peep-toe pumps pulled this elegant look together.  Her bronzed complexion and red lips look gorgeous on her. A little bit of bronze for glow and contour with a red lip is perfect if you are planning on wearing a traditional red bridal lengha. We are not too crazy about the lighter areas around Sameera's eyes. Brides, take note - make sure you do not use products with titanium dioxide on your complexion. It will reflect light on your wedding photos and cast a white area. Other than that we can't find fault with Sameera's look; it is gorgeous.
