The glamorous collection “Urban Goddess” by Anita Dongre
blended the traditional with the contemporary. Gorgeous raw silk combined with weaves of Benares resulted in a colorful variety of silhouettes strutting down the catwalk. The colorful prints in red, magenta, blue and beige were perfectly accented with touches of bronze and gold bold woven motifs.

Long feminine gowns with quilted bodices and flyaway layers of fabrics with the occassional appearance of origami folds gave the gowns an air of sexiness. The opulent jewelry with pearls, diamonds and precious stones was perfectly paired with minimalist black stilettos and embroidered sling bags.
Ending the show was Preeti Desai, Miss Great Britain 2006 and star of the Bollywood film “Shor in the City” in a regal white and gold gotta embroidered bridal lehenga, choli, dupatta and wearing the most exquisite heavy pearl jewelry.
For women who desire a mix of Indian weaves and prints with western sartorial elegance, Anita Dongre’s
collection for Winter/Festive 2012 will turn the wearer into an “Urban Goddess” with all the right options.
