Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012- Pallavi Jaikishan

If there was a collection during Lakmé Fashion Week that was geared towards brides, Pallavi Jaikishan's was definitely it.  We were absolutely floored by the gorgeous saris, kurtas, jackets, lehengas and anarkalis.  An ethereal atmosphere was created by a string quartet which played old classical jazz and a stage covered in fresh flowers and greenery. The collection was distinguished by four themes: Sajala, Mandara, Elavia and Aiyana. More on these individual themes after the pictures below.
Pallavi Jaikishan's collection was a bride's dream come true! We'll be back with more collections tomorrow.

Sajala, clouds with a golden lining-Light, gossamer fabrics seemed to float down the catwalk in soft colors such as cream and blush with cognac and aqua. Beautiful burnished gold embellishments complemented the look.
Mandara, the mythical tree- Sap green tulle inspired by Mandara with touches of silver and intricate florals were created with embroidery of leaves, pink and coral roses.
Elavia, a thing of beauty and grace- Red, vermillion and pink saris glittering with embroidery whilst orange blossoms and silver embroidery were intricately combined in awe inspiring creations.
Ayiana, the eternal bloom- An ode to the bride which featured regal shimmering lenghas with embellishments Pallavi is known for.  Dupattas in gold lace, velvet cholis and flowers tied everything together and gold lacy hair ornaments all put the finishing touches.
