Beautiful colors and silhouettes made up Shama Sikander's collection for Lakme India Fashion Week. We love some of these pieces for a traditional Pakistani bride at her Mehndi night.
"Red, green, yellow and gold contributed to the colour palette which was bright and vibrant perfectly depicting the mood of ‘Célèbre’ while pops of colour like pink and purple added an extra spark to her creations.Light, soft fabrics like chiffon, georgette, and cotton silks were embellished to create gorgeous outfits fit for any princess. Embellishments were placed at specific spots, focusing on the arms, cuffs and the borders of the garment to help balance out the bold colours; while in some designs, embellishments were placed over net for a more glamorous look. The designer, who is admired for being meticulous, projected her skills through the embellishments on the garments. Velvet trims, patchwork, beaded and sequined embroidery designs helped set the stage on fire."
