BMW India Bridal Fashion Week (IBFW) 2014 - Ashima-Leena
Bridal couture designer duo
Ashima-Leena presented an exquisite collection which was inspired by a combination of mysticism, Sufism and the fantasy of the Arabian Nights.
The collections entitled 'Persian Flowers', 'Gulistan', 'Gold Souq', 'Pieces of Silver', 'Isfahan' and 'Tabriz' were presented via the ramp which was covered with sand against a desert backdrop. Adding to the flavor, a sound projector featuring the live vocals of Kutle Khan, the digital console of Midival Punditz's Gaurav Raina and the flute by Pandit Ajay Prasanna made the show unique.
Showcased were lehengas, flowing farshi pyjamas, elegantly trailing ghararas, long kurtis and saris paired with exquisitely embellished blouses, and the revival of the odhni. The trend appeared to be plunging back cholis that reached the hip bone.
Details included intricate beadwork, sequins and metallic threadwork on fine silk, tulle and organza with specially woven Persian motifs. Hues of gold with vintage grey, antique silver, mirrored accents, soft dusky pinks with a sheer, peacock blue, turquoise and lapis with burnt orange were representative of the duo’s festive interpretations.
