Indian Wedding Fashion by Manish Malhotra / Rehane / Deepti Purthi Lakmé Fashion Week 2013
The first day of
Lakmé Fashion Week started out with some truly wonderful collections from
Manish Malhotra,
Rehane and
Deepti Purthi.
Manish Malhotra, who presented an ode to 100 years of Bollywood, spared no detail in this gorgeous collection. Black tie anarkalis, lenghas and sarees illuminated the runway in shades of black and white with silver and gold. Asha Bhosle made a legendary appearance in a cream lace saree edged in gold embroidery, proving that one can look amazing at any age. Pale cream, shades of pink, bright citrus and coral lenghas, anarkalis and sarees balanced the black and white designs. Priyanka Chopra looked stunning in this super trendy neon citrus sari with touches of coral and pink. Can't you just picture a pretty spring wedding with a bride wearing one of these gorgeous outfits? The kurtas paired with salwaar or churidar would be a modern and chic outfit for bridesmaids or for engagement photos.
Among the shows on the first day of
Lamké Fashion Week, we found a few gems that would look amazing for a bride. While most of
Rehane's collection was gorgeous, this piece in particular stood out. The yellow, mango and gold dress with embroidered flowers would be right at home with a bride who loves to be different but still wants a romantic edge.
Deepti Purthi presented some interesting silhouettes in sophisticated blue and grey variations with discreet beading. Brides who want to experiment with cool colors and western silhouettes, take note of these designs.
