Honoring Family Members at an Indian Wedding

I don't really know what it is about weddings, but they usually bring out a great deal of nostalgia-- especially for those who are no longer with us. Here are some unique and touching ways to honor family members who have passed away:

  • Include a special poem or quote in your program

  • Read a letter that this individual had given to you that you'd like to share with your guests

  • Have his/her photo in a small frame attached to the stem of your bouquet

  • Have a heart shape of his/her old shirt sewn into the hem of your lengha

  • Dedicate your favors to them (i.e. a package of "Forget-me-nots" for the guests to grow on their own or special cookies)
