Every so often in the months leading up to my wedding, I would read stories about brides who were so relaxed and mellow on their wedding day despite things going wrong, and think to myself, I hope I'll be one of those girls when my turn comes. Well I'd like to think that yes I was one of those brides (maybe...) but today's bride Nalini, now she was absolutely definitely one of those brides! See below as the amazingly talented Sunny from
Photographick Studios recounts the morning of Nalini and her now husband Neil's big day!
"She woke early and peered out her bedroom window. The sky was still black, and Nalini could hear the sounds of rain pattering on the pavement. The rain would have been welcomed had it not been the morning of her wedding. She went back to sleep hoping for the best.
The sun broke through the grey clouds and stroked the white panes of the large plantation style house in Brookville, Maryland. Mother Nature had a made her dramatic arrival, bringing in torrential downpours, blistering winds and knocking out power to millions. None of this affected our stunning bride, Nalini. Her and her soon to be husband, Neil, had spent time working in Florida and became well aware of the wrath that hurricanes can bring. I still remember calling her the morning of her wedding, asking if her house, where she and her family were getting ready, survived the storm. Not only had her neighborhood been spared from down trees and floods, but her house was also one of the few that had power! Her fiancé was driving down the day of the wedding from New York and although our beautiful bride was nervous hoping he wouldn't hit traffic, down power lines or issues with 70% of the lights in Montgomery County down she simply smiled and enjoyed the time she had with family getting ready.
