Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 Payal Kapoor
Payal Kapoor's collection “Notes from The Raj” created a feeling of grandeur. Specially woven intricately designed fabrics in shades of green, nude, black and wine were seen all over the runway. Cutwork scarves, multi-coloured layered lehengas with cutwork covers and rich red kaftans with imposing shimmering leaf embroidery were among the standouts in this collection.

The mermaid skirt with twinkling embroidery worn with a frilly one shoulder top, the tinsel georgette panelled kurta and the floor length skirt with a richly embellished black velvet broad border, evoked inspirations of The Raj.
Show stopper Mini Mathur in a rich magenta gold zardozi lehenga, choli and dupatta made a graceful entry to end the show.It was a perfect fusion collection, which recreated the looks of past eras from Payal Kapoor that will appeal to the women who are looking for an Indo-West touch in women’s wear.
