Real Punjabi Wedding: Modern Indian Bridal Dresses - 3

My wedding outfits were nothing like what I ever dreamed I would wear to my wedding. I must have tried on literally 100 different outfits in different shapes, fabrics, and colors before I found “the ones.” Lucky for me I had the luxury of going to India (my first time back in 20 years!) to go wedding shopping and I came back with outfits I loved. For the ceremony I wore a floor length Anarkhali with tons of different colors, embroideries, pleating, and embellishments. I had my flower girl wear an outfit that mimicked mine including an identical chunni. To match, my bridesmaids all wore fuschia salwar kameez’s with heavy rhinestone and pearl beading on the neck and the groomsmen coordinated with my husband and all wore kurta pajamas with matching pink dupattas and turbans.

For the reception I wore a wine colored lengha with a beaded gold top paired with an embroidered and beaded navy jacket, while my husband opted for an Indian inspired Nehru suit! I think I made it about one hour into our reception before my jacket had to come off so my arms were free to dance!
