Modern Kentucky Indian Wedding by Shaun Ring Photography - 3

I cannot get over how unique Sheena, Sameer, and their bridal party's wedding day attire was. We got a glimpse of Sheena's custom red Indian wedding dress in the getting ready portrait session, but here we get a close up of another exquisite piece of jewelry she wore that day - her dangling cuff! Sameer sported a kurta like suit, wearing a shorter jacket mixed with the traditional kurta wedding print.

Sheena had her bridesmaids wear mermaid shaped lenghas with off the shoulder chunni tops which were the same color as her wedding day dress (Kate and Pippa style!). Sameer had his groomsmen mix it up a bit with two of them wearing long red colored kurtas and white scarves, and the third one wearing the opposite with a white kurta and red scarf. I love that the couple added some fun and personality to the portrait session with their cute Mr. and Mrs. signs - adorable! (Yes, we know you'll be pinning that one!). The team at Shaun Ring Photography did such a fabulous job shooting this Indian portrait session. I love the careful composition of each picture, and how he found natural backdrops that matched the couple's color scheme! After the pictures, Sheena shares some background information on how her bridal party attire came to be!

"My wedding gown and reception gown were designed by my parents and myself. We then had them both hand made in India by Sheetal. During the ceremony, the bridal party were all in traditional Indian attire that was all handmade in India. As per tradition, Sameer carried a knife that was carried by my grandfather at his wedding and my brother-in-law at his wedding. During the reception, we wanted to represent our American upbringing and everyone changed into tuxes and gowns (with a few Indian details!). My reception jewelry was borrowed from my mom, and my sister also wore it at her wedding reception."

That's it for today! Join us tomorrow for Sheena and Sameer's modern and elegant Indian reception, their big outfit change, and a MAJOR surprise the couple had for their guests!
