Today we're featuring the wedding of Shafina and Lionel fresh off of the sandy beaches in
Cancun, Mexico! Their photographer,
Daniel Diaz Photography, captured the wedding celebrations and their spirits beautifully. The best part of these images is that the bride and groom look stress free and elated in every single picture- no wedding day stress!
Shafina looked radiant in each of her outfits. For her Mehndi and Sangeet celebration, she wore a maroon and purple lengha with velvet embellishments and matching matha patti, earrings, necklace and belt. Shafina's wedding day outfit literally made my jaw drop when I saw it. Her gorgeous white cinched waist sweetheart necked dress with ruffles and tulle galore made my heart skip a beat- she just looked so beautiful!!

From the bride:
"The night before the wedding we planned a big Indian party on the beach. Kind of like a sangeet. We rented a big tent and dance floor that was set up on the sand. We had a henna lady and 2 Indian singers flown into Cancun and all the guests wore formal Indian clothes. We partied and danced the night away. We had a full moon and the ocean as our back drop. It was one of the most beautiful and fun nights of the whole week."
"The next day was the wedding on the beach and the reception in the evening. We had time for a quick dip in the pool with all of our friends in between the wedding and the reception. Not something we could have done here in Toronto. We love the beach so there could not have been a more perfect setting for our wedding. The reception was a crazy party on the rooftop of the resort. We had floating candles in the pool and white lanterns hanging everywhere. The DJ was from Mexico but had an amazing selection of Indian music as well. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire time."
