Today we are bringing you the multicultural wedding of Saurabh and Erin, photographed by Studio Uma Photography
. Saurabh and Erin celebrated their wedding with both a Hindu ceremony and a Christian ceremony, which naturally means double the excitement and double the aww factor! To kick it off, we're presenting their stunning Hindu ceremony images. Erin looked every bit the Indian princess dressed in a red and gold wedding lengha, mehndi, and gold slingback heels. Saurabh looked dashing in a printed achkin. I am utterly obsessed with the shot Studio Uma Photography
captured of Erin through her bridal chunni. I love how artistic it is and how you can still she her face so clearly through the fabric!
After the images stay tuned as Erin shares what went into planning her multicultural wedding!
At the onset of our wedding planning, my husband and I knew that we wanted our marriage to symbolize the fusion of two different cultures coming together. My Southern Baptist family knew little about Indian culture and my husband’s North Indian family had only visited America once; furthermore, both were quite traditional in their separate beliefs. Creating a Hindu-Christian marriage is no small task but one that opened the eyes to so many of our relatives, putting on display the beauty, colors, and rich history characteristic of both upbringings. We built so many cultural bridges throughout the process, captured within Uma Sanghvi’s photographs, as my family laughed, dancing in their sarees, and his family basked in the dignity of Southern living.
