I remember the night before my wedding I woke up every hour until it was finally time to jump out of bed around 6:00am. I’m not really an emotional person by nature, so much so that I contemplated not wearing waterproof mascara (thank god I did), but it surprised me how emotionally charged your wedding day is. Every emotion just feels super magnified whether it's happiness, nervousness, sadness; everything just seems more intense. I think that was the one part of getting married that no one prepared me for, so future brides be warned!
My favorite part of my entire wedding was my ceremony which took place at The Merion
in Cinnaminson, New Jersey
. It also ironically happened to be the part that I lost the most sleep over in the months prior to the wedding. I had the most specific vision of how I wanted my ceremony to look, and thankfully my event coordinators and decorators were able to pull it off!
For the ceremony the dance floor was converted into a Sikh wedding friendly space with a sea of purple and green pillows lining the floor, a few tall floral arrangements, and a rose petal aisle to help infuse the room with color. I also strategically had the men in my family wear purple turbans, the groomsmen wear fuschia turbans, and my husband’s family wear green turbans so I could make sure my color scheme flowed all throughout the room!
As most former brides will tell you, by the time the morning of the wedding came nothing else mattered except getting married. But as a bonus, everything really did turn out exactly the way I wanted it to be.
Stay tuned our portrait session is up next!
