Borrow it Bindaas is such a welcome addition to the South Asian community, how did you come up with the concept? Thank You, we have been receiving such a warm welcome from the South Asian community! We came up with the concept through our own experiences. We come from a family full of women and the past few years we have been attending more weddings and other formal occasions where Indian Apparel is required. We began to notice how expensive it was to prepare for these events and there emerged the need for Borrow It Bindaas! With
Borrow It Bindaas customers can simply select from our wide selection of inventory (sarees, lenghas, accessories, salwars, anarkalis etc.), flaunt it for that occasion they have been waiting for, and simply return it with the provided pre-paid return envelope! We even take care of the dry cleaning! We really wanted to provide a practical alternative for women out there like ourselves who want to wear something new for every occasion without spending a fortune.
How long have you been in business?
We launched the company Memorial Day weekend this past year, 2011 right in time for the Summer Wedding Season!
How often do you add new clothing and accessories onto the website?
We are constantly adding inventory every few weeks. We are either introducing a new accessories line, clutch line, lenghas etc. We always strive to keep the inventory fresh and current with the trends in Indian fashion while also keeping in mind what trends would work here in the U.S. and what does not.
How long do you have to return an outfit once you receive it? What happens if the outfit doesn’t fit? You have the option to borrow an outfit for 5 days or 10 days. We understand that Indian weddings are sometimes a weeklong affair so we allow customers the option of renting for 10 days for no additional charges! Each blouse from our collection has been tailored with margins to fit a wide range of sizes. We have an in house tailor who custom tailor’s each blouse according to each order. In addition, customers have the option to borrow a second back-up blouse for free to ensure fit, as we want to make sure they look and feel fabulous for their event! Should an item not fit correctly, we ask customers to contact us immediately so we can resolve the problem by either exchanging the item or issuing credit that may be used for a future order.
If I reserve an outfit for an event a few months out and come back to your website in-between the time I reserved it and the event and find something else that I like better, am I able to switch my reservation?
Of course! If that particular item is available for your preferred dates, we can certainly work out an exchange. We want you to look and feel your best so we are quite flexible!
If I buy something from the website but when I receive it I no longer like it, am I able to return it?
If the item is purchased and you would like to return it for any reason, you may qualify for a full refund, exchange, or credit for the purchase price of your item. The item must be undamaged, unworn, and unwashed. We ask customers to keep a copy of their order invoice and securely package and send us the items within 48 hours of receipt of the item so they are able to qualify for a full refund. If the item is returned to us within 15 days of receipt of your item, customers may qualify for credit, provided that the item is undamaged, unworn, and unwashed. Borrow It Bindaas, we know planning a wedding is stressful so we want to take away the bride’s stress and dress her guests! In addition to having bridesmaid’s sarees, beautiful bridal sarees, lenghas and great picks for the bride and groom’s guests and families; we offer wedding parties special discounts and offers. We even take it a step further and can arrange for a Borrow It Bindaas representative to come to dress and drape your wedding guests in Borrow It Bindaas sarees!
Are you able to reserve multiples of each outfit for groups such as bridesmaids and groomsmen?
Absolutely! While many of our items are unique designer pieces and only have one piece available in each, we have a selection of bridesmaids and groomsmen outfits in our BIB Weddings Sections in which you are able to browse the items where we have more than one available in.
Since bridal outfits can often be very expensive, and most of the time only get worn once, do you find that a lot of brides are now open to renting their wedding day ensembles?
While many brides like to keep their bridal lengha’s as a keepsake, we have brides who rent from us for the rest of their occasions starting right from their engagement, garba’s, grashanti’s, and sangeets! We have found that this way, many brides are able to spend as much as they want on their bridal lengha without spending a fortune on the rest of their ensembles!
