Fusion Hindu Wedding in Manhattan

Whenever I talk to real brides-to-be in person, I almost always hear that they're looking for real wedding inspiration, and not just platinum weddings that use the same formula. Well, this one's for you, ladies! I love the heart and soul Michelle and Raajit put into their fusion wedding, despite a tight budget. And finding Tina from Fahrenheit NYC to photograph the wedding was the icing on the cake! From the bride: "We were determined to get married in Manhattan, and we were fortunate to meet many talented vendors along the way to help us with our day.  We decided that the best way to achieve our ideal event was to draw from some traditions from both cultures.  We did this in a very home-grown, intimate event with 60 of our closest family and friends." The couple chose 202 East as their venue because it provided them with a blank canvas to decorate, along with amenities like an open bar and an attentive staff. With guidance from the groom's family, the DIY mandap was constructed of stools and cushions Michelle found at Ikea and painted gold, along with curtains sewn by her mother. As if our bride wasn't talented enough, she even created all of her floral arrangements, from the bouquets to the paper and tulle flower pockets lining the aisle. How much do you love the individual sweets for the guests to enjoy during the ceremony? Love the idea and the presentation, AND that all the sweets were made by the groom's mother. More great ideas coming right up from the reception!
