Abhishek and Tasneem

When planning their big South Asian wedding, most brides will spend the least amount of time on the actual ceremony because it’s something that doesn’t require much customization. Fusion couples, on the other hand, spend the majority of their time customizing this aspect of their wedding to reflect their different backgrounds. So how do you combine Muslim and Hindu religions? Abhishek and Tasneem show us how, with tons of inspiration for all of you!

From the photographer, Matei Horvath Photography: “Abhi and Tasneem’s intimate outdoor ceremony was a beautiful blend of both of their faiths. The ceremony was officiated by a close friend with family members reading Muslim and Hindu benedictions. Due to the unusual weather, the Japanese Garden was in full bloom (usually only a few plants bloom at a time to create a year round garden) and needed little decoration. The ceremony’s natural setting complimented the wedding colors perfectly.”

In contrast to the simple wedding ceremony, Abhishek and Tasneem’s reception can only be described as a grand affair overlooking downtown LA. The venue had a royal vibe decorated with floral sculptures and rich purple and gold colors as the theme. The deep purple colors of the venue paired amazingly with Tasneem’s beautiful gold and purple lehenga.
