Indian Wedding Themes

A wedding theme is essential when planning your perfect wedding. It’s the ideal way to tie in all of the different aspects of an Indian wedding (invitations, wedding attire, reception décor, favors, etc.)

Location

Think of a place (or places) that you love and take the best elements of them to create your wedding. If you plan on spending your honeymoon in Italy, why not introduce Italian food in the menu and pass out some Italian pastries. Want to keep it more Indian? Combine the music of Punjab with the decorations of Rajasthan.

Cultural Background

Are you Gujurati and your future husband Irish? Celebrate both of your cultures by highlighting different aspects during your reception.

Seasons

Use Mother Nature as the inspiration for your wedding. Frame the décor of your wedding after the season in which it will be held. Who wouldn’t love a Winter Wonderland wedding!

Color

Choose your favorite colors and mix them together to create the theme for your wedding. Traditionally Indian weddings concentrate on red and gold but that’s no reason you can’t make everything silver and blue!

Flowers

Choose your favorite flower, or the one that is currently in season, and use it as your theme. Choose between orchids, roses, lilies, sunflowers … the choices are endless!

Holidays

Why not invoke the feelings of your favorite holiday at your wedding? Celebrate Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Year’s or even Diwali with your loved ones!

Romance

If romance is the first thing you think of when you imagine your wedding, this theme is for you. Choose between symbols of hearts and a room full of candles to celebrating the love of Romeo & Juliet or Heer & Ranjha.
