About Vishwa
Vishwa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vatsal and Nilu Patel is the eldest child in her family. She has a younger brother, Jinesh who is currently in pharmacy school. Vishwa attended Kean University, in New Jersey and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She is currently finishing up her Master's in Occupational Therapy and plans to graduate in May 07. Vishwa enjoys art and is passionate about dancing. |
About Deven
Deven, son of Jayendra and Padma Unadkat, was born and raised in North Bergen, NJ. He went to college, graduate, and medical school in NY. He is currently in his third year of residency in Emergency Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. When not working, Deven likes to work out, ride his bike, and watch baseball. |

How we met
Vishwa and Deven's sister (Deepa) went out to a lounge in NYC for a mutual friends birthday party. There Deepa was accompanied by her brother, Deven. Vishwa and Deven were then introduced and continued to mingle throughout the evening.
|
Proposal
It was a fun-filled party set by Deven's sister for New Year's Eve and little did Vishwa know that she was going to get engaged... All 40 guests at the party knew of this milestone except her. It was 11:59 pm and everyone was awaiting for the ball to drop. 12:00 am and Deven sneaks out to set-up a private room for his proposal. Deepa and Vishwa's best friend (Sharmilee) tell Vishwa that Deven is looking for her. After searching around....Vishwa walks into a room filled with candles in every corner and a chair in the corner of the room. The back of the chair reads "Vishwa- please sit down and press play on the computer". Then began a beautiful movie slideshow...2 1/2 years... of our pictures. In the end of the movie the screen stated, revealing "Will you marry me?"... and out came Deven from behind closed doors with a dozen red roses, he got down on one knee (and you the rest). Once we walked out of the room, all of our friends and family were cheering for us! |
How we celebrated
Vishwa continued to enjoy the rest of the New Years party.. and well, as for Deven........... after a long night of working at the hospital, making a movie slideshow and keeping it all a secret the entire night... He went to sleep!
